SFI SYSTEM(w/ Canister Pump Module) Cold Start Injector Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The cold start fuel injector assembly is attached to the intake air surge tank and is designed to improve startability when the engine is cold. It operates when the engine coolant temperature is -12°C (10°F) or less, and the starter signal is on.

  1. INSPECT COLD START FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Inspect the cold start fuel injector assembly.

  2. INSPECT ECM (STJ1 VOLTAGE)


    1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A77-24 (STJ1) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COLD START FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY - ECM)


    1. Disconnect the cold start fuel injector assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F42-1 - A77-24 (STJ1) Always Below 1 Ω
      F42-1 or A77-24 (STJ1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
