REAR CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER

  2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

    Click here

  3. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  4. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE DRIVE PLATE AND RING GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Using SST, hold the crankshaft pulley assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Part number of installation bolt for SST (crankshaft pulley holding tool): 91551-80650 (quantity: 2)

    2. A01MW56

      Remove the 8 bolts, rear drive plate spacer, drive plate and ring gear sub-assembly and front drive plate spacer.

  6. REMOVE REAR ENGINE OIL SEAL

      *a Cut Position
      *b Protective Tape

      Using a knife, cut off the lip of the rear engine oil seal.

    2. Using a screwdriver, pry out the rear engine oil seal.

      Note


      • Do not damage the surface of the rear engine oil seal press fit hole or the crankshaft.

      • After removing the rear engine oil seal, check the crankshaft for damage. If damaged, smooth the surface with 400-grit sandpaper.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
