IGNITION COIL AND SPARK PLUG REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE

    Click here

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  4. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE

      Disengage the clamp.

    2. Disconnect the 2 camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly connectors and water inlet with thermostat sub-assembly connector.

    3. Remove the bolt to disconnect the engine wire from the timing chain cover assembly.

      Disengage the claw and open the cover of the fuel hose clamp as shown in the illustration.

    5. Remove the fuel hose clamp from the fuel tube connector.

      Disengage the clamp to disconnect the No. 2 fuel tube sub-assembly.

    7. B003UXL

      Disengage the 4 clamps.

    8. Remove the 2 nuts to disconnect the engine wire from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH.

    9. Disconnect the 2 VVT sensor connectors.

    10. B003VFG

      Disengage the clamp to disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly.

    11. Disconnect the fuel pump assembly connector.

  5. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY


    1. B003TKU

      Disconnect the 6 ignition coil assembly connectors.

    2. Remove the 6 bolts and 6 ignition coil assemblies.

      Note

      If an ignition coil assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      Tech Tips

      Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.

  6. REMOVE SPARK PLUG


    1. Remove the 6 spark plugs.

      Note

      If a spark plug has been struck or dropped, replace it.
