PROCEDURE

1. REMOVE REAR INPUT SHAFT BEARING SHAFT SNAP RING

   
   

   1. 

      Using a snap ring expander, remove the rear input shaft bearing shaft snap ring from the input shaft.

2. REMOVE REAR INPUT SHAFT RADIAL BALL BEARING

   
   

   1. 

      Using SST, remove the rear input shaft radial ball bearing from the input shaft.

3. REMOVE 6TH GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. 

      Using SST and press, press out the 6th gear sub-assembly from the input shaft.

4. REMOVE 3RD GEAR

   
   

   1. 

      Using SST and press, press out the 3rd gear from the input shaft.

   2. 

      Remove the spacer from the input shaft.

5. REMOVE 4TH GEAR

   
   

   1. 

      Using SST and press, press out the 4th gear from the input shaft.

6. REMOVE INPUT SHAFT SNAP RING

   
   

   1. 

      Using 2 screwdrivers and a hammer, tap out the input shaft snap ring from the input shaft.

      Note

      Use a piece of cloth to prevent the snap ring from flying off.

7. REMOVE FRONT INPUT SHAFT BEARING

   
   

   1. 

      Using SST and press, remove the front input shaft bearing from the input shaft.
