When the stop and start system does not operate, check whether the operation is prohibited because the battery conditions are not met.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Trouble Codes.

    5. Read the DTCs.

      If Idling Stop Rate is higher than 50% or Total Idling Stop Rate is higher than 40%, turn the ignition switch off and leave the vehicle off for a while. After that, restart the engine. If the Data List item "Oper Permission (Battery)" still shows not permitted, the battery may be degraded or temporarily discharging. In that case, charge or replace the battery after checking the battery state.
