PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL DIESEL THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY


    1. Install a new gasket and the diesel throttle body assembly with the 2 nuts and 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      11 N*m  { 112 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf }

    2. Connect the diesel throttle body assembly connector.

    3. Connect the No. 6 water by-pass hose to the diesel throttle body assembly, and slide the clamp to secure the hose.

    4. Connect the No. 7 water by-pass hose to the diesel throttle body assembly, and slide the clamp to secure the hose.

  2. INSTALL NO. 3 AIR HOSE


    1. A01KCCRC01
      *a Front
      *b Left
      *c Upper

      Install the No. 3 air hose to the No. 2 air tube and diesel throttle body assembly.

      Note

      Clean the outer surface of the pipe and the inner surface of the hose before connecting the parts.

    2. Tighten the 2 hose clamps as shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      6.5 N*m  { 66 kgf*cm, 58 in.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      Make sure the direction of the hose clamps is asshown in the illustration.

  3. ADD ENGINE COOLANT

  4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  5. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK

  6. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  7. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER

  8. PERFORM THROTTLE VALVE FULLY CLOSED POSITION LEARNING

    Tech Tips

    Be sure to turn off the ignition switch before performing this inspection.


    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    2. Turn the ignition switch off and wait 30 seconds.

      Tech Tips

      The fully closed position of the diesel throttle valve is learned when the ignition switch is turned off.
