LIGHTING SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK


  1. AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (w/ Automatic Light Control System)


    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    2. Turn the headlight dimmer switch to the AUTO position.

    3. Cover the automatic light control sensor.

    4. Check that the taillights and low beam headlights come on.

    5. Uncover the automatic light control sensor.

    6. Check that the low beam headlights and taillights turn off.

  2. LIGHT AUTO TURN-OFF SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (for Door-linked Light Auto Turn-off System)

    *1: w/ Front Fog Light

    *2: w/ Rear Fog Light


    1. Prepare the vehicle so that the ignition switch is ON and the driver door is closed.

    2. Set the headlight dimmer switch to the tail, head or AUTO (w/ Automatic Light Control System) position to illuminate the lights.

    3. Turn the ignition switch off and open the driver door. Check that the headlights, front fog lights*1, rear fog lights*2, taillights, clearance lights and license plate lights turn off.

  3. LIGHT AUTO TURN-OFF SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (except Door-linked Light Auto Turn-off System)

    *1: w/ Front Fog Light

    *2: w/ Rear Fog Light


    1. When headlight dimmer switch in AUTO position. (w/ Automatic Light Control System)


      1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      2. Turn the headlights, front fog lights*1, rear fog lights*2, clearance lights, taillights or license plate lights on.

      3. Turn the ignition switch off.

      4. Check that all of lights go off immediately.

    2. When headlight dimmer switch in tail or head position.


      1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      2. Turn the headlights, front fog lights*1, rear fog lights*2, clearance lights, taillights or license plate lights on.

      3. Turn the ignition switch off.

      4. Check that the headlights and front fog lights*1 go off immediately.

  4. DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT SYSTEM (w/ Daytime Running Light)


    1. Headlight dimmer switch is in the off or AUTO (w/ Automatic Light Control System) position (and the low beam headlights are not turned on via the automatic light control system).

    2. Start the engine.

    3. Release the parking brake.

    4. Check that the daytime running lights come on.

  5. HID HEADLIGHT SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK (for HID Headlight)


    1. Perform the following diagnosis procedure when both of the following conditions are met: 1) the headlight light control ECU is not visibly damaged, and 2) the headlight light control ECU has been struck but is operating normally. If all of the following diagnosis results are normal, the headlight light control ECU can be reused.


      1. Perform low beam headlight cold starts (10 minutes or more off, then turned on) and hot starts (15 minutes or more on, 1 minute off, then turned on again) several times. Check that the low beam headlights illuminate normally.

      2. For 5 minutes immediately after performing a headlight cold start as described above, visually check the illumination condition and check that the lights do not flicker or show signs of instability.

      3. Install bulbs that have approximately the same usage time, and illuminate the low beam headlights for approximately 30 seconds. Check that the brightness of the left and right bulbs is approximately the same, and that the illumination is stable.
