Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

  • A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL REAR NO. 2 SIDE RAIL SPACER LH (w/o Curtain Shield Airbag)


    1. Attach the 3 clips to install the rear No. 2 side rail spacer LH.

  2. INSTALL REAR NO. 2 SIDE RAIL SPACER RH (w/o Curtain Shield Airbag)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  3. INSTALL REAR NO. 2 SIDE RAIL SPACER LH (w/ Curtain Shield Airbag)


    1. Attach the 2 clips to install the rear No. 2 side rail spacer LH.

    2. Attach the wire harness clamp.

    3. Connect the rear part of the curtain shield airbag assembly LH with a new clip.

      Push in the pin to lock the clip.

    5. Check that the curtain shield airbag assembly LH is not twisted.

  4. INSTALL REAR NO. 2 SIDE RAIL SPACER RH (w/ Curtain Shield Airbag)

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  5. INSTALL REAR SIDE RAIL SPACER LH (w/o Curtain Shield Airbag)


    1. Attach the 4 clips to install the rear side rail spacer LH.

  6. INSTALL REAR SIDE RAIL SPACER RH (w/o Curtain Shield Airbag)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  7. INSTALL REAR SIDE RAIL SPACER LH (w/ Curtain Shield Airbag)


    1. Attach the clip to install the rear side rail spacer LH.

    2. Install the bolt.

    3. Install the curtain shield airbag assembly LH.

  8. INSTALL REAR SIDE RAIL SPACER RH (w/ Curtain Shield Airbag)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  9. INSTALL FRONT SIDE RAIL SPACER LH (w/o Curtain Shield Airbag)


    1. Attach the 4 clips to install the front side rail spacer LH.

  10. INSTALL FRONT SIDE RAIL SPACER RH (w/o Curtain Shield Airbag)

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  11. INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY


    1. w/o Sliding Roof:


      1. Place the roof headlining assembly into the vehicle as shown in the illustration.

        Note

        Be careful not to damage the roof headlining assembly when placing it.

        Install the roof headlining assembly with the 5 clips.

    2. w/ Sliding Roof:


      1. Place the roof headlining assembly into the vehicle as shown in the illustration.

        Note

        Be careful not to damage the roof headlining assembly when placing it.

        Install the roof headlining assembly with the 3 clips.

    3. Attach the 3 wire harness clamps and connect the 2 connectors to the front pillar LH.

    4. Attach the 4 wire harness clamps to the front pillar RH.

    5. Connect the connector to the rear pillar RH.

    6. w/ Sliding Roof:

      Connect the connector.

    7. w/ EC Mirror:

      Connect the connector.

    8. w/ Rain Sensor, w/o Pre-crash Safety System:

      Connect the connector.

    9. w/ Rain Sensor, w/ Pre-crash Safety System:

      Connect the connector.

    10. w/ Pre-crash Safety System:


      1. w/o Camera Heater:

        Connect the 2 connectors.

      2. w/ Camera Heater:

        Connect the 3 connectors.

  12. INSTALL SUN ROOF OPENING TRIM MOULDING (w/ Sliding Roof)

    1. Install the sun roof opening trim moulding as shown in the illustration.

  13. INSTALL INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR STAY HOLDER COVER (w/ EC Mirror)

    1. Install the 2 clips and 2 assist grip covers to the assist grip.

    2. Attach the 2 clips to install the assist grip assembly.

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for both visor holders.

    2. Push in the visor holder to install it.

    1. Install the visor assembly LH with the 2 screws.

    2. Attach the upper part of the front pillar garnish assembly LH and the 2 clips to install the front pillar garnish LH.

  26. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH (w/ Curtain Shield Airbag)


    1. Install the front pillar garnish clips to the front pillar garnish LH.

      Tech Tips

      Install the front pillar garnish clips so that it faces as shown in the illustration.

      Attach the 2 front pillar garnish clips to install the front pillar garnish LH.

      Tech Tips

      Make sure that the curtain shield airbag assembly LH is not pinched.

  27. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH (w/ Curtain Shield Airbag)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  28. INSTALL CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH


    1. Pass the front seat outer belt floor anchor through the hole of the center pillar garnish LH.

    2. Attach the clip to install the center pillar garnish LH.

    3. Install the 2 clips.

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  30. INSTALL LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH


    1. Attach the 2 claws and 2 clips to install the lower center pillar garnish LH.

    2. Connect the front seat outer belt floor anchor with the bolt.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

    1. Attach the 8 clips to install the inner roof side garnish assembly LH.

    2. Connect the rear seat outer belt shoulder anchor with the bolt.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

  35. INSTALL INNER ROOF SIDE GARNISH ASSEMBLY RH

  36. INSTALL SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER CAP

  37. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Connect the connector.

    2. Attach the 4 clips and 6 claws to install the deck trim side panel assembly LH.

    3. Install the luggage hold belt striker assembly with the bolt.

    4. Install the tether anchor set bracket with the bolt.

    5. Close the tether anchor set bracket cover.

    6. Install the 2 bolts and screw.

  38. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY RH


    1. Attach the 4 clips and 6 claws to install the deck trim side panel assembly RH.

    2. Install the luggage hold belt striker assembly with the bolt.

    3. Install the tether anchor set bracket with the bolt.

    4. Close the tether anchor set bracket cover.

    5. Install the 2 bolts and screw.

  39. INSTALL DECK TRIM SERVICE HOLE COVER

    Use the same procedure for both deck trim service hole covers.

      Attach the 2 guides and 4 claws to install the deck trim service hole cover.

  40. INSTALL REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

      Align the paint mark on the rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH with the mark position on the vehicle and install the rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH as shown in the illustration.

  42. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH


    1. Attach the 6 clips and 2 claws to install the rear door scuff plate LH.

  43. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

  44. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

      Align the paint mark on the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH with the mark position on the vehicle and install the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH as shown in the illustration.

  46. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH


    1. Attach the 2 clips and 8 claws to install the front door scuff plate LH.

  49. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 FLOOR MAT SUPPORT SIDE PLATE


    1. Attach the 4 clips to install the rear No. 1 floor mat support side plate together with the rear No. 1 floor board.

    2. Install the 4 screws.

    3. Close the No. 1 rear floor board.

  50. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE (w/o Spare Tire, for Compact Spare Tire)


    1. Attach the 2 guides, 4 clips and 2 claws to install the rear floor finish plate.

  51. INSTALL REAR DECK TRIM COVER (for Full Size Spare Tire)


    1. Attach the 4 clips and 4 claws to install the rear deck trim cover.

  52. INSTALL NO. 3 REAR FLOOR BOARD


    1. for Compact Spare Tire:

        Attach the 2 guides and 2 clips to install the No. 3 rear floor board.

    2. for Full Size Spare Tire:

        Attach the 4 clips to install the No. 3 rear floor board.

  53. INSTALL NO. 2 REAR FLOOR BOARD

  54. INSTALL DECK FLOOR BOX LH


    1. Attach the 4 claws to install the deck floor box LH.

    2. Install the 3 clips.

  55. INSTALL DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the deck board assembly.

  56. INSTALL TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Tonneau Cover)

      Attach the 2 locks to install the tonneau cover assembly.

  57. INSTALL PACKAGE TRAY TRIM POCKET SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Partition Net)

      Attach the 4 locks to install the package tray trim pocket sub-assembly.

  58. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
