FRONT WIPER MOTOR INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY


    1. A00YWO8N01

      Move the windshield wiper motor assembly in the direction of the arrows as shown in the illustration and attach it to the link.

    2. Install the windshield wiper motor assembly with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }
    3. A00YRHXC02
      A00YW8G MP Grease

      Apply MP grease to the wiper motor pivot.

    4. A00YT7T

      Connect the No. 1 rod to the wiper motor pivot.

  2. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY

    Note

    Be careful not to damage the windshield when installing the windshield wiper motor and link assembly.


    1. Connect the connector and attach the clamp.

      *1 Motor Grommet

      Attach the motor grommet as shown in the illustration.

    3. Install the windshield wiper motor and link assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Attach the 9 guides as shown in the illustration.

    2. Attach the 5 claws and 2 guides to install the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

    3. Install the 2 clips.

  4. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH


    1. A00YWHTC01
      *1 Double-sided Tape

      Apply Primer G to the installation part of the spacer.

      Note


      • Clean the front fender to cowl side seal installation area on the body using non-residue solvent.


      • If an area other than specified is coated by accident, wipe off the Primer G with a clean piece of cloth before it dries.

    2. Apply double-sided tape to the front fender to cowl side seal.

    3. Attach the claw and 3 guides to install the front fender to cowl side seal LH.

  5. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  6. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Stop the windshield wiper motor assembly at the automatic stop position.

      *1 Wiper Arm Serration
      *2 Wiper Pivot Serration

      When reusing the front wiper arm and blade assembly LH:


      1. Clean the wiper arm serrations to remove any burrs, dirt, etc.

        Note

        Do not grind down the wiper arm serrations.

    3. When reusing the windshield wiper link assembly:


      1. Clean the wiper pivot serrations.

      *1 Ceramic Dot

      Install the front wiper arm and blade assembly LH with the nut to the position shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      26 N*m  { 265 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      Hold the wiper arm by hand while tightening the nut.

  7. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH


    1. A00YXIHC01
      *1 Wiper Arm Serration
      *2 Wiper Pivot Serration

      When reusing the front wiper arm and blade assembly RH:


      1. Clean the wiper arm serrations to remove any burrs, dirt, etc.

        Note

        Do not grind down the wiper arm serrations.

    2. When reusing the windshield wiper link assembly:


      1. Clean the wiper pivot serrations.

      *1 Ceramic Dot

      Install the front wiper arm and blade assembly RH with the nut to the position shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      26 N*m  { 265 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      Hold the wiper arm by hand while tightening the nut.

    4. Operate the front wiper while spraying washer fluid onto the windshield glass. Make sure that the front wiper functions properly and the wiper does not come into contact with the vehicle body.

    5. Lift each front wiper blade twice after the front wipers stop and check the wiper set position.

  8. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM COVER


    1. Attach the 3 claws to install the windshield wiper arm cover.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for both windshield wiper arm covers.
