SEAT BELT WARNING SYSTEM(w/o Occupant Classification System) DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST


  1. READ DATA LIST

    Tech Tips

    Using the GTS to read the Data List allows values or states of switches, sensors, actuators and other items to be read without removing any parts. This non-intrusive inspection can be very useful because intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the Data List information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time.

    Note

    In the table below, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not.


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / (desired system) / Data List.

    5. According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List.


      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List
      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      P-Seatbelt Buckle SW Front passenger side seat belt buckle signal ON/OFF

      ON: Front passenger side seat belt fastened

      OFF: Front passenger side seat belt unfastened

      		 Perform the inspection while sitting in the front passenger seat.
      2nd-Row Seatbelt Buckle (R) Rear No. 1 seat belt buckle RH signal* ON/OFF

      ON: Rear No. 1 seat belt RH fastened

      OFF: Rear No. 1 seat belt RH unfastened

      		 -
      2nd-Row Seatbelt Buckle (L) Rear No. 1 seat belt buckle LH signal* ON/OFF

      ON: Rear No. 1 seat belt LH fastened

      OFF: Rear No. 1 seat belt LH unfastened

      		 -
      2nd-Row Seatbelt Buckle (C) Rear No. 1 seat center belt buckle signal* ON/OFF

      ON: Rear No. 1 seat center belt fastened

      OFF: Rear No. 1 seat center belt unfastened

      Driver Side Seatbelt Warning Buzzer Driver side seat belt warning buzzer signal ON/OFF

      ON: Seat belt warning buzzer enabled

      OFF: Seat belt warning buzzer disabled

      		 The current customize setting is displayed.
      P-Seatbelt Warning Buzzer Front passenger side seat belt warning buzzer signal ON/OFF

      ON: Seat belt warning buzzer enabled

      OFF: Seat belt warning buzzer disabled

      		 The current customize setting is displayed.
      Rear Seatbelt Warning Buzzer Front passenger side seat belt warning buzzer signal ON/OFF

      ON: Seat belt warning buzzer enabled

      OFF: Seat belt warning buzzer disabled

      		 The current customize setting is displayed.

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST

    Tech Tips

    Using the GTS to perform Active Tests allows relays, VSVs, actuators and other items to be operated without removing any parts. This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing Active Tests early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. Data List information can be displayed while performing Active Tests.


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / Combination Meter / Active Test.

    5. According to display on the GTS, perform the Active Test.


      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Active Test

      Driver Side Seat Belt Front seat belt warning light ON/OFF Confirm that the vehicle is stopped and the engine is idling.
