WIPER AND WASHER SYSTEM(w/ Rain Sensor) Washer Nozzle Heater Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU receives ambient air temperature information from the air conditioning amplifier assembly via CAN communication. The washer nozzle heater assembly controls the main body ECU and operates the washer nozzle heater assembly according to the ambient temperature.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK MAIN BODY ECU


    1. Using the GTS, enter the following menus: Body / Main Body / Active Test.

    2. Select "Front Washer Nozzle Heater", and perform the Active Test.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WASHER NOZZLE - WASHER HEATER RELAY AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the A96 washer nozzle sub-assembly connector.

    2. Remove the washer heater relay.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A96-2 (B) - WASHER HEATER RELAY 3 Always Below 1 Ω
      A96-1 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      A96-2 (B) or WASHER HEATER RELAY 3 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Disconnect the G79 main body ECU connector.

    2. Remove the washer heater relay.
