DESCRIPTION

The engine hood courtesy switch is installed together with the hood lock. This switch turns on when the engine hood is closed and turns off when the engine hood is opened.

Note

When replacing the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), make sure to replace it with a new one.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (HOOD COURTESY SW)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

    5. According to the display on the GTS, read the Data List.

      The indicator on the GTS switches between ON and OFF in accordance with the engine hood courtesy switch (hood lock assembly) status.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY [ENGINE HOOD COURTESY SWITCH] - MAIN BODY ECU [MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU])


    1. Disconnect the A59*1 or A50*2 hood lock assembly (engine hood courtesy switch) connector.


      • *1: Gasoline

      • *2: Diesel

    2. Disconnect the G79 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      for Gasoline, w/ Stop and Start System:
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A59-2 (+) - G79-5 (HCTY) Always Below 1 Ω
      A59-2 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G79-5 (HCTY) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for Gasoline, w/o Stop and Start System:

      A59-1 (+) - G79-5 (HCTY) Always Below 1 Ω
      A59-1 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Disconnect the A59*1 or A50*2 hood lock assembly (engine hood courtesy switch) connector.


      • *1: Gasoline

      • *2: Diesel

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Remove the hood lock assembly (engine hood courtesy switch).
