Note


  • Before replacing the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly), refer to the Service Bulletin.

  • The immobiliser system uses the CAN communication system. Inspect the communication function by following How to Proceed with Troubleshooting. Troubleshoot the immobiliser system after confirming that the communication systems are functioning properly.

  • When replacing the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), make sure to replace it with a new one.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (IMMOBILISER INDICATOR)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Entry&Start / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.


      Body Electrical > Entry&Start > Active Test

  2. CHECK SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT OPERATION


    1. When the immobiliser is set, check that the security indicator light blinks.*1

      OK
      The security indicator light blinks normally.

    2. When the theft deterrent system is in the arming preparation state, check that the security indicator light illuminates.*2

      OK
      The security indicator light is on.
      Result
      Proceed to
      *1 is NG (*2 is OK)
      *2 is NG (*1 is OK) (for LHD)
      *2 is NG (*1 is OK) (for RHD)

    *1 is NG (*2 is OK)

    REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)

    *2 is NG (*1 is OK) (for LHD)

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) Click here

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT - CERTIFICATION ECU [SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY] AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the G43 security indicator light (telltale light assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the G84 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G84-18 (IND) - G43-21 (LP) Always Below 1 Ω
      G43-13 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      G84-18 (IND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G43-21 (LP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. CHECK CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the G43 security indicator light (telltale light assembly) connector.

    2. Measure the voltage and check the pulse according to the value(s) in the table below.
