CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Tech Tips


  • Register a new recognition code when replacing the door control transmitter assembly or the door control receiver.

  • Add mode is used to retain the codes that have already been registered while registering a new recognition code. This mode is used when adding a door control transmitter assembly.

  • Rewrite mode is used to clear all the previously registered codes and register only new recognition codes. This mode is used when exchanging the door control transmitter assembly or the door control receiver with a new one.

  • Confirmation mode is used to confirm how many recognition codes have already been registered before additional registration of a recognition code.

  • Prohibition mode is used to clear all the registered codes and cancel the wireless door lock function. Use this mode when the door control transmitter assembly is lost.

  • All of the steps in the following registration procedure must be performed in sequential order continuously.

PROCEDURE


  1. REGISTRATION OF RECOGNITION CODE (USING GTS [w/o Manual Registration])


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Utility / Wireless Code Registration.


      Body Electrical > Main Body > Utility
      Tester Display
      Wireless Code Registration

    5. Select either add or rewrite mode according to the GTS display.

    6. The number of registered codes is indicated.

    7. Registration of the door control transmitter assembly


      1. If either add mode or rewrite mode has been selected, press the lock and unlock switches on the door control transmitter assembly simultaneously.

      2. Within 3 seconds of releasing the lock and unlock switches, press either of the switches on the door control transmitter assembly.

        Note


        • Do not press the lock and unlock switches simultaneously for more than 1.5 seconds.

        • Perform this operation within 1 meter of the driver seat to register the door control transmitter assembly.

        • Do not push other door control transmitter assembly switches during the door control transmitter assembly registration process.

      3. The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) automatically performs the power door lock/unlock operation once in order to indicate whether registration has been completed correctly or not.

      4. If continuing registration, the next recognition code must be registered in the door control transmitter assembly within 30 seconds.

        Tech Tips

        Up to 6 recognition codes can be registered.

    8. Completing the registration mode.


      1. Registration mode will end when any of the following occurs:


        • 30 seconds or more have elapsed after a code is registered.

        • The GTS is used to finish registration.

        • The GTS is disconnected.

        • The ignition switch is turned off.

    9. Perform the following after registration is completed.


      1. Perform the wireless door lock control operation check.

        Tech Tips

        If the wireless door lock control does not operate, perform the registration procedure again.

  2. REGISTRATION OF RECOGNITION CODE (NOT USING GTS [w/ Manual Registration])


    1. The following conditions must be met.


      • No key is inserted in the ignition key cylinder.

      • The driver side door is open (the other doors are closed).

      • The driver side door is unlocked.

    2. Insert and remove the key into/from the ignition key cylinder twice (Insert → Remove → Insert → Remove) within 5 seconds.

      Tech Tips

      The procedure should end with the key removed.

    3. Perform the following operations within 40 seconds.


      1. Close and open the driver side door twice (Close → Open → Close → Open).

        Tech Tips

        The procedure should end with the door open.

      2. Insert and remove the key into/from the ignition key cylinder (Insert → Remove).

        Tech Tips

        The procedure should end with the key removed.

      3. Close and open the driver side door twice (Close → Open → Close → Open).

        The procedure should end with the door open.

      4. Insert the key into the ignition key cylinder and close all the doors.

    4. Perform the following operations within 40 seconds.


      1. Turn the ignition switch from ON to off at approximately 1 second intervals. Operate the ignition switch according to the number of times shown below.

        Tech Tips

        If the number of ignition switch ON - off operations is 0, 4, 6 or more, there will be no response (the power door lock and unlock operation) to show which mode has been selected.

      2. Remove the key from the ignition key cylinder.

    5. Check the response to the selected mode within 5 seconds.

      Note

      After the system has been set to prohibition mode, enter the confirmation mode and check that the number of registered keys is 0.

      Tech Tips


      • In confirmation mode, the lock-unlock operation will occur once for each recognition code that has been registered. For example, if 2 recognition codes have been registered, the lock-unlock operation will occur twice.

      • In confirmation mode, if no recognition codes have been registered, the lock-unlock operation will occur 5 times.

      • If confirmation mode or prohibition mode is selected, the operation ends after the response to the selected mode completes.

    6. If add mode or rewrite mode is selected, perform the following procedures within 40 seconds.


      1. Press a door lock control transmitter switch (lock and unlock).

      2. Press a door lock control transmitter switch (lock or unlock).

      3. After completing the above step, check the response to the registration completion within 5 seconds.

        Tech Tips


        • If the lock-unlock operation occurs twice, the registration of the recognition code has failed. Perform the registration procedures again from the beginning.

        • If registering another transmitter, repeat the procedures after the response to the selected mode confirmation. All 6 recognition codes can be registered consecutively.

    7. Perform either of the following to complete the registration of the recognition codes:


      • Open a door.

      • Insert the key into the ignition key cylinder.
