CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Check that the ignition switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Clean any remaining adhesive from the bolt holes for the curtain shield airbag assembly in the vehicle body.

    4. Temporarily install the curtain shield airbag assembly LH with 2 new bolts and attach the 2 claws (A).

      Note

      Do not twist the curtain shield airbag assembly when installing it.

    5. Install the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      9.8 N*m  { 100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf }

    6. Attach the 2 claws (B).

    7. Install 7 new clips and then push in the 7 pins.

      *3 Claw (B) *4 Clip
      *5 Pin - -
    8. A01VABZC01
      *1 Connector Lock

      Connect the curtain shield airbag connector.

      Note

      When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    9. Push in the connector lock to install the airbag connector.

  2. INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY

  3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
