BLIND SPOT MONITOR MAIN SWITCH(for RHD) INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT TELLTALE LIGHT ASSEMBLY (BLIND SPOT MONITOR MAIN SWITCH)

      Component without harness connected

      (Telltale Light Assembly (Blind Spot Monitor Main Switch))

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      8 (D) - 9 (LAPB) Blind spot monitor main switch assembly on (not protruding) Below 1 Ω
      8 (D) - 9 (LAPB) Blind spot monitor main switch assembly off (protruding) 10 kΩ or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the telltale light assembly (blind spot monitor main switch).

    2. Check that the switch illuminates.

        Component without harness connected

        (Telltale Light Assembly (Blind Spot Monitor Main Switch))

        Apply battery voltage to the telltale light assembly (blind spot monitor main switch) and check that the switch illuminates.

        OK
        Connection Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 18 (DIM)

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 19 (ILL-)

        		 Illuminates

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 18 (DIM)

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 9 (LAPB)

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 19 (ILL-)

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 13 (E)

        		 Illuminates in dimmed state

        If the result is not as specified, replace the telltale light assembly (blind spot monitor main switch).

    3. Check that the switch indicator illuminates.

        Component without harness connected

        (Telltale Light Assembly (Blind Spot Monitor Main Switch))

        Apply battery voltage to the telltale light assembly (blind spot monitor main switch) and check operation of the switch as shown in the table below.

        OK
        Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 9 (LAPB)

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 10 (E)

        		 Blind spot monitor main switch assembly on (not protruding) Indicator Illuminates

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 9 (LAPB)

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 18 (DIM)

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 10 (E)

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 13 (E)

        		 Blind spot monitor main switch assembly on (not protruding) Illuminates in dimmed state

        If the result is not as specified, replace the telltale light assembly (blind spot monitor main switch).
