DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the blind spot monitor sensor LH detects a ground short in the outer rear view mirror indicator LH.

    Both of the following conditions are met:

  • Blind spot monitor main switch (warning cancel switch assembly*1 or telltale light assembly*2) is on.

  • The current that is sent from the blind spot monitor sensor to the indicator is above a specified level for a specified period of time.

  • Outer rear view mirror sub-assembly LH (outer rear view mirror indicator LH)

  • Outer rear view mirror assembly LH

  • Blind spot monitor sensor LH

  • Harness or connector

Note

When checking for DTCs, make sure that the blind spot monitor main switch (warning cancel switch assembly*1 or telltale light assembly*2) is on.


  • *1: for LHD

  • *2: for RHD

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Click here


      Body Electrical > Blind Spot Monitor Master > Clear DTCs

    2. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR INDICATOR LH CIRCUIT)


    1. Disconnect the R1 blind spot monitor sensor LH connector.

    2. Disconnect the J8 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J8-1 (BSL+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  3. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Remove the outer rear view mirror sub-assembly LH.

    2. Inspect the outer rear view mirror sub-assembly LH.

  4. REPLACE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Replace the outer rear view mirror assembly LH.

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.
