DESCRIPTION

The navigation ECU and the radio and display receiver assembly are connected by the LVDS communication line.

This DTC is stored when an LVDS communication error occurs between the navigation ECU and the radio and display receiver assembly.

When one of the conditions below is met:


  • Video signal (digital) is lost.

  • Navigation ECU is/was not connected while the ignition switch is/was to ON or ACC.

  • Communication between the master unit and the navigation ECU is/was not possible when the engine is/was started.


  • Navigation ECU power source circuit

  • LVDS circuit between radio and display receiver assembly and navigation ECU

  • Navigation ECU

  • Radio and display receiver assembly

  • No. 1 navigation wire

Tech Tips


  • Even if no fault is present, this DTC may be stored depending on the battery condition or engine start voltage.

  • The radio and display receiver assembly is the master unit.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK NO. 1 NAVIGATION WIRE (NAVIGATION ECU POWER SOURCE)

      Disconnect the navigation ECU connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Y5-2 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Y5-1 (B+) - Y5-2 (GND) Always 11 to 14 V
      Y5-3 (ACC) - Y5-2 (GND) Ignition switch ACC 11 to 14 V

  2. REPLACE NO. 1 NAVIGATION WIRE (LVDS COMMUNICATION LINE)


    1. Replace the No. 1 navigation wire (LVDS communication line).

  3. CHECK NO. 1 NAVIGATION WIRE (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - NAVIGATION ECU)


    1. Disconnect the Y1 radio and display receiver assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the Y5 navigation ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Y1-4 (+B2) - Y5-1 (B+) Always Below 1 Ω
      Y1-3 (ACC2) - Y5-3 (ACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      Y1-8 (GND2) - Y5-2 (GND) Always Below 1 Ω
      Y1-4 (+B2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Y1-3 (ACC2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Y1-8 (GND2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. REPLACE NAVIGATION ECU


    1. Replace the navigation ECU with a known good one.
