Tech Tips
Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
PROCEDURE
REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
Note
Wash off brake fluid immediately if it comes in contact with any painted surface.
DISCONNECT FRONT FLEXIBLE HOSE
Remove the union bolt and gasket.
Disconnect the flexible hose from the disc brake cylinder.
REMOVE DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH

Hold the front disc brake cylinder slide pin and remove the 2 bolts and disc brake cylinder.
REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD
Remove the 2 disc brake pads.
REMOVE FRONT ANTI-SQUEAL SHIM KIT
Remove the 2 No. 1 anti-squeal shims and 2 No. 2 anti-squeal shims from each pad.
REMOVE NO. 1 PAD WEAR INDICATOR PLATE
Remove the 2 pad wear indicator plates from the pads.
REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD SUPPORT PLATE

Remove the 2 No. 1 front disc brake pad support plates from the disc brake cylinder mounting.
REMOVE NO. 2 FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD SUPPORT PLATE
Remove the 2 No. 2 front disc brake pad support plates from the disc brake cylinder mounting.
REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER MOUNTING LH
Remove the 2 bolts and cylinder mounting.
REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER SLIDE PIN

Remove the front disc brake cylinder slide pin from the front disc brake cylinder mounting.
REMOVE NO. 2 FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER SLIDE PIN
Remove the No. 2 front disc brake cylinder slide pin from the front disc brake mounting.
REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER SLIDE BUSH

Using a screwdriver, remove the front disc brake cylinder slide bush from the No. 2 front disc brake cylinder slide pin.
Tech Tips
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
Note
Be careful not to damage the pin.
REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE BUSH DUST BOOT
Remove the 2 boots from the mounting.
REMOVE FRONT DISC

Put matchmarks on the disc and axle hub.
Remove the disc.
