NAVIGATION SYSTEM(for HDD) Speaker Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The sound signals amplified by the navigation ECU sub-assembly are sent to the speakers from the navigation ECU sub-assembly via the speaker circuit.

If there is a short in a speaker circuit, the navigation ECU sub-assembly detects it and stops output to the speakers.

Thus sound cannot be heard from the speakers even if there is no malfunction in the navigation ECU sub-assembly or speakers.

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY - SPEAKERS)

    • *1: for Front Speaker Area

    • *2: for Rear Speaker Area

    • *3: for LH Side

    • *4: for RH Side

    1. Disconnect the G137*1 and/or G138*2 navigation ECU sub-assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the H3*3 and/or H1*4 front No. 2 speaker assembly connector.

    3. Disconnect the L2*3 and/or K2*4 rear speaker assembly connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G137-1 (FR+) - H1-4 (TWR+) Always Below 1 Ω

      Tech Tips

      • Connect all the connectors to the front No. 2 speaker assemblies that were disconnected.

      • When there is a possibility that either the right or left front speaker is defective, inspect by interchanging the right one with the left one.

      • Perform the above inspection on both LH and RH sides.

    2. Proceed to the next step based on the inspection result.
