Note
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.
REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Note
When disconnecting the cable some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY
REMOVE BATTERY
REMOVE BATTERY TRAY
REMOVE FRONT BATTERY BRACKET
REMOVE BATTERY BRACKET REINFORCEMENT
REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP AND HOSE
REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE
REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER
REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSEMBLY
REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
Move the shift lever to N.
Disconnect the end of the transmission control cable assembly from the shift lever.

Pull out the stopper of the transmission control cable assembly.
Rotate the nut of the transmission control cable assembly counterclockwise approximately 180° and, while holding the nut in that position, disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the shift lever retainer.
Note
Do not over-rotate the nut as it will come off the internal spring and the transmission control cable assembly will not be reusable.
Remove the nut and disconnect the control cable assembly from the control shaft lever.
Remove the clip and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the control cable bracket.
Disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the control cable support.
Remove the bolt and disconnect the clamp of the transmission control cable assembly.
Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly.
Pull out the transmission control cable assembly to remove it.
