FRONT DIFFERENTIAL OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  2. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

    Click here

  3. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH

    Click here

  4. DRAIN CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSAXLE FLUID

      Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, remove the overflow plug and gasket from the continuously variable transaxle assembly.

    2. A01V7FWC06
      *1 No. 1 Transmission Oil Filler Tube

      Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, remove the No. 1 transmission oil filler tube from the continuously variable transaxle assembly and drain the continuously variable transaxle fluid.

    3. Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, install the No. 1 transmission oil filler tube to the continuously variable transaxle assembly.

      Torque:
      1.7 N*m  { 17 kgf*cm, 15 in.*lbf }

    4. Temporarily install the gasket and overflow plug.

      Tech Tips

      Reuse the old gasket. The plug will be removed again to adjust the fluid level.

  5. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH AND RH

  6. REMOVE DRIVE SHAFT BEARING BRACKET

  7. REMOVE CVT TYPE T OIL SEAL LH

    1. Using SST, remove the CVT type T oil seal LH from the transaxle case.

      Note

      Do not damage the transaxle case.

  8. REMOVE CVT TYPE T OIL SEAL RH

    1. Using SST, remove the CVT type T oil seal RH from the transaxle housing.

      Note

      Do not damage the transaxle housing.

  9. INSTALL CVT TYPE T OIL SEAL LH

    A01V6YTE02

    1. Using SST and a hammer, tap in a new CVT type T oil seal LH to the transaxle case.

      Standard depth
      -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0197 in.)

      Note

      Do not damage the lip of the CVT type T oil seal LH.

    2. Coat the lip of the CVT type T oil seal LH with MP grease.

  10. INSTALL CVT TYPE T OIL SEAL RH

    1. Using SST and a hammer, tap in a new CVT type T oil seal RH to the transaxle housing.

      Standard depth
      -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0197 in.)

      Note

      Do not damage the lip of the CVT type T oil seal RH.

    2. Coat the lip of the CVT type T oil seal RH with MP grease.

  11. INSTALL DRIVE SHAFT BEARING BRACKET

  13. ADD CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSAXLE FLUID

  14. INSTALL REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER RH
