MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL REPLACEMENT

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER


    1. A01QRY3

      Remove the 8 clips and fold back the No. 1 engine under cover.

      Tech Tips

      It is not necessary to fully remove the No. 1 engine under cover. Partially remove it so that the oil can be replaced in a later step.

  2. DRAIN MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL

    A01QUPIC01
    *1 Manual Transmission Filler Plug
    *2 Manual Transmission Drain Plug

    1. Remove the manual transmission filler plug and gasket.

    2. Remove the drain plug and gasket to drain the manual transmission oil.

    3. Install a new gasket and the manual transmission drain plug.

      Torque:
      39.2 N*m  { 400 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf }
  3. ADD MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL


    1. A01QUF1C01
      *a 0 to 5 mm (0 to 0.197 in.)

      Add oil until the oil level is within 0 to 5 mm (0 to 0.197 in.) from the bottom of the manual transmission filler plug opening.

      Manual Transaxle Oil
      "TOYOTA Genuine Manual Transmission Gear Oil LV" or "API GL-4 and SAE 75W"
      Standard Capacity
      2.3 liters (2.4 US qts, 2.0 Imp. qts)
    2. Install a new gasket and the manual transmission filler plug.

      Torque:
      39.2 N*m  { 400 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf }

      Note


      • When adding transaxle oil, make sure the vehicle is level.

      • An excessively large or small amount of oil may cause problems.

      • After adding oil, drive the vehicle and recheck the oil level.

  4. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER


    1. A01QSSG

      Install the No.1 engine under cover with the 8 clips.
