STARTER INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL STARTER ASSEMBLY


    1. Using an E14 "TORX" socket wrench, install the starter assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      64 N*m  { 653 kgf*cm, 47 ft.*lbf }
    2. Connect the engine wire to the starter assembly with the nut.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }
    3. Connect the No. 2 engine wire to the starter assembly with the nut.

      Torque:
      9.8 N*m  { 100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf }
    4. Close the terminal cap.

  2. INSTALL ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE


    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring.

    2. Install the O-ring to the engine oil level dipstick guide.

    3. Using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, install the engine oil level dipstick guide with the bolt.

    4. Engage the clamp and connect the fuel feed pipe sub-assembly to the engine oil level dipstick guide.

    5. Install the engine oil level dipstick.

    6. Engage the 6 clamps and connect the No. 2 engine wire to the engine oil level dipstick guide.

  3. CONNECT NO. 1 VACUUM PIPE


    1. Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring.

    2. Install the O-ring to the No. 1 vacuum pipe.

    3. Using an E7 "TORX" socket wrench, connect the No. 1 vacuum pipe to the cylinder block sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }
  4. INSTALL BATTERY BRACKET REINFORCEMENT

  5. INSTALL BATTERY CARRIER

  6. INSTALL BATTERY TRAY

  7. INSTALL BATTERY

  8. INSTALL BATTERY INSULATOR

  9. INSTALL BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY

  10. CONNECT CABLE TO POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  11. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  12. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER

  13. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
