PARK / NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER

  2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP AND HOSE

    Click here

  3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  5. DISCONNECT FUEL FILTER ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the connector and detach the connector clamp.

    2. Remove the bolt and slide the fuel filter assembly upward to disconnect it from the air cleaner bracket.

  6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER BRACKET

      Remove the 2 nuts and air cleaner support.

    2. A01GCF6

      Disconnect the glow relay.

    3. A01GB4C

      Detach the 3 wire harness clamps.

    4. Detach the 2 fuel hoses from the air cleaner bracket.

    5. Remove the 3 bolts and air cleaner bracket.

  7. DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

    1. Move the shift lever to N.

    2. Remove the nut and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the control shaft lever.

  8. REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Disconnect the park/neutral position switch connector.

      Remove the nut, washer and control shaft lever from the control shaft.

      Remove the 2 bolts and pull out the park/neutral position switch assembly to remove it from the control shaft.

      Note

      Before removing the park/neutral position switch assembly, remove any dirt or rust on the installation portion of the control shaft. Be sure to remove the switch straight along the shaft while being careful not to deform the plate spring that supports the shaft. If the plate spring is deformed, the park/neutral position switch assembly cannot be reinstalled correctly.
