INTAKE SYSTEM ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT INTAKE SYSTEM

   
   

   1. Check that there are no vacuum leaks at the points shown in the illustration.

2. INSPECT INTAKE MANIFOLD

   
   

   1. Inspect the swirl control valve operation.

      
      

      1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.

      3. Start the engine.

      4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Actuator Test of Swirl Flap / Data List / Swirl Valve Actuator Position.

         
         Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Active Test

         Tester Display
         Actuator Test of Swirl Flap

         OK
         The value of "Swirl Valve Actuator Position" changes according to the amount "Actuator Test of Swirl Flap" is operated, and the swirl flap operates smoothly.

3. CHECK INTAKE AIR CONTROL SYSTEM

   
   

   1. Check for leakage or clogging between the air cleaner assembly housing and turbocharger sub-assembly inlet, and between the turbocharger sub-assembly outlet and cylinder head sub-assembly.

      Condition	Operation
      Clogged air cleaner assembly	Clean or replace air cleaner filter element sub-assembly
      Hoses collapsed or deformed	Repair or replace
      Leakage from connections	Check each connection and repair
      Cracks in components	Check and repair or replace

4. CHECK EXHAUST SYSTEM

   
   

   1. Check for leakage or clogging between the cylinder head sub-assembly and turbocharger sub-assembly inlet and between the turbocharger sub-assembly outlet and exhaust pipe assembly.
