FUEL INJECTOR REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

  2. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  4. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER

  5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  8. REMOVE BATTERY

  9. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY

  10. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE


    1. Detach the 9 clamps and disconnect the 18 connectors.

    2. Remove the 3 bolts and 3 nuts, and then disconnect the engine wire.

  11. REMOVE AIR TUBE


    1. A01V6RUC01
      *1 Fuel Vapor Feed Hose
      *2 Union to Connector Tube Hose
      *3 No. 1 Vacuum Transmitting Hose
      *4 No. 1 Fuel Vapor Feed Hose

      Slide the clamp and disconnect the fuel vapor feed hose from the purge VSV.

    2. Slide the clamp and disconnect the union to connector tube hose from the air tube.

    3. Slide the clamp and disconnect the No. 1 vacuum transmitting hose from the air tube.

    4. Disconnect the No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose from the air tube.

    5. Remove the 2 bolts and air tube.

  12. REMOVE VACUUM SURGE TANK

      Disconnect the 2 air hoses from the purge VSV and intake manifold and detach the clamp.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and vacuum surge tank.

  13. DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the No. 2 fuel pipe clamp and disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly.

  14. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the bolt and wire harness bracket.

    2. A01V7A5

      Remove the 2 bolts.

    3. A01V7NS

      Remove the bolt and fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to drop the fuel injectors when removing the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

    4. A01V6V5

      Remove the 2 No. 1 delivery pipe spacers.

  15. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY


    1. A01VANU

      Pull the 4 fuel injector assemblies out of the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the fuel injector assembly.

      For reinstallation, attach a tag or label to the injector shaft.

      Note

      Prevent entry of foreign objects by covering the fuel injector assembly with plastic bags.

    4. Remove the 4 injector vibration insulators from the cylinder head.
