DIESEL THROTTLE BODY ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT DIESEL THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

   2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

   3. Turn the GTS on.

   4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Actuator Test of Throttle Valve / Data List / Throttle Valve Actuator Position.

      
      Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Active Test

      Active Test Display
      Actuator Test of Throttle Valve

      Data List Display
      Throttle Valve Actuator Position

   5. Perform the following steps to determine if the diesel throttle body assembly is normal.

   6. Perform the Active Test and set it to 5% according to the display on the GTS.

      OK
      The throttle valve operates within 1 second and the difference between the Active Test setting and the value of Throttle Valve Actuator Position is +/-3%.

   7. Wait for 2 seconds or more.

   8. Perform the Active Test and set it to 91% according to the display on the GTS.

      OK
      The throttle valve operates within 1 second and the difference between the Active Test setting and the value of Throttle Valve Actuator Position is +/-3%.
