PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY


    1. Install a new gasket to the intake manifold.

    2. for Type A:

      Install the throttle body assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

    3. for Type B:

      Install the throttle body assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

    4. Connect the water by-pass hose and No. 2 water by-pass hose, and slide the clamp to secure them.

    5. Connect the throttle body assembly connector.

  2. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01GB3G

      Install the air cleaner cap sub-assembly. Then, release the lock of the air cleaner cap sub-assembly clamp to secure the clamp.

    2. Connect the PCV hose to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly, and slide the clamp to secure it.

    3. Connect the 2 clamps.

    4. Attach the wire harness to the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.

    5. Connect the mass air flow meter connector.

  3. INSTALL NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER


    1. Attach the 4 clips to install the No. 2 cylinder head cover.

      Note


      • Be sure to attach the clips securely.

      • Do not apply excessive force or hit the No. 2 cylinder head cover to attach the clips. This may cause the No. 2 cylinder head cover to break.

  4. ADD ENGINE COOLANT

  5. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK

  6. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

    Note


    • Be sure to perform this procedure after reassembling the throttle body assembly or removing and reinstalling any throttle body component.

    • Perform the following procedure after replacing the ECM, throttle body assembly or any throttle body components. The following procedure should also be performed if the throttle body is cleaned.

    • Be sure to perform this procedure after replacing the ECM and reconnecting the battery cable.


    1. Disconnect the EFI MAIN and ETCS fuses at the same time. Wait at least 60 seconds, and then reconnect the fuses.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON without operating the accelerator pedal.

      Note

      If the accelerator pedal is operated, perform the above steps again.

    3. Connect the GTS to the DLC3 and clear the DTCs.

    4. Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated and that the idle speed is within the specified range when the A/C is switched off after the engine is warmed up.

      Standard idle Speed
      600 to 700 rpm

      Note


      • Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.

      • Make sure that the shift lever is in N or P.

    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Throttle Sensor Position. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and check that the value is 60% or more.

    6. Perform a road test and confirm that there are no abnormalities.
