ENGINE UNIT REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE HEATER WATER OUTLET HOSE


    1. A01GCBA

      Slide the clamp and disconnect the heater water outlet hose from the No. 1 water by-pass pipe.

  2. REMOVE HEATER WATER INLET HOSE

    A01GASB

    1. Slide the clamp and disconnect the heater water inlet hose from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

  3. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD


    1. A01GBWM

      Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the air tube.

    2. A01GBWZ

      Slide the 2 clamps and disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses from the throttle body and No. 1 water by-pass pipe.

    3. A01GCKB

      Slide the clamp and disconnect the PCV hose from the intake manifold.

    4. Remove the 5 bolts, 2 nuts, intake manifold and intake manifold stay.

    5. Remove the gasket from the intake manifold.

  4. REMOVE VACUUM SURGE TANK

  5. REMOVE FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE

      Remove the engine oil level dipstick.

    2. Remove the bolt and engine oil level dipstick guide.

    3. Remove the O-ring from the engine oil level dipstick guide.

  9. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR

  10. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY

    Click here

  11. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD

    Click here

  12. REMOVE NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS PIPE (for CVT)

    1. Remove the 2 nuts, No. 3 water by-pass pipe and gasket.

  13. REMOVE NO. 1 SEAL PLATE (for Manual Transaxle)

      Remove the 2 nuts, No. 1 seal plate and gasket.

  14. REMOVE PCV HOSE


    1. Slide the clamp and remove the PCV hose from the PCV valve.

  15. DISCONNECT NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

    1. Slide the clamp and disconnect the No. 3 water by-pass hose from the water inlet housing.

  16. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS HOSE


    1. A01GCE2

      Slide the clamp and remove the water by-pass hose from the No. 1 water by-pass pipe.

  17. REMOVE WATER INLET HOSE


    1. A01GA70

      Slide the 2 clamps and remove the water inlet hose from the No. 1 water by-pass pipe and water inlet housing.

  18. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS PIPE

      Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 water by-pass pipe.

  19. REMOVE WATER INLET

  20. REMOVE THERMOSTAT

  21. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY
