ECM REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time maybe required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the purge VSV connector.

    3. Detach the 2 wire harness clamps.

    4. Slide the 2 clamps and disconnect the fuel vapor feed hose and No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose from the purge VSV.

    5. Disconnect the No. 2 PCV hose from the cylinder head cover.

      Lock the air cleaner cap sub-assembly hose clamp, and then disconnect the air cleaner cap sub-assembly from the throttle with motor body assembly.

      Detach the 2 hook clamps, and then remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.

    8. Remove the air cleaner filter element from the air cleaner case.

  4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE

      Detach the harness clamp.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and air cleaner case.

  5. REMOVE ECM

      *b Lock

      Disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.

      Note

      After disconnecting a connector, make sure that dirt, water and other foreign matter does not contact the connector.


      1. Raise the 2 levers while pushing the locks on the 2 levers and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.

      Remove the 3 bolts and ECM.

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 ECM BRACKET

      Remove the 2 screws and No. 1 ECM bracket.

  7. REMOVE NO. 2 ECM BRACKET

      Remove the 2 screws and No. 2 ECM bracket.
