PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT EGR BYPASS VALVE SWITCHING VALVE (NO. 1 VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY)

   
   
   1. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (EGR Bypass Valve Switching Valve (No. 1 Vacuum Switching Valve Assembly))

      Inspect the EGR bypass valve switching valve (No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly) resistance.

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1 - 2 20°C (68°F) 33 to 39 Ω

         If the result is not as specified, replace the EGR bypass valve switching valve (No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly).

   2. 

      *a	Port E
      *b	Port F
      *c	Filter
      *d	Air

      Apply battery voltage between the terminals of the EGR bypass valve switching valve (No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly) and check that the following occurs when blowing air to the port (E).

      OK
      Measurement Condition Specified Condition Battery voltage applied between terminals 1 and 2 Air flows from port (F) Battery voltage not applied between terminals 1 and 2 Air flows from filter

      If the result is not as specified, replace the EGR bypass valve switching valve (No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly).
