BACK DOOR OUTSIDE GARNISH(for Hatchback) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL BACK DOOR OUTSIDE GARNISH PROTECTOR

   
   

   1. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

   2. Remove the release paper from the back door outside garnish protector.

      Tech Tips

      After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

   3. Type A:

      
      

      1. Install 3 new back door outside garnish protectors.

         Tech Tips

         Stick the 3 back door outside garnish protectors on the lines marked on the back door outside garnish sub-assembly.

   4. Type B:

      
      

      1. Install a new back door outside garnish protector.

         

         *a

         Line

         -

         -

         Tech Tips

         Stick the back door outside garnish protector on the lines marked on the back door outside garnish sub-assembly.

2. INSTALL NO. 2 BACK DOOR OUTSIDE GARNISH PROTECTOR

   
   

   1. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

   2. Remove the release paper from the No. 2 back door outside garnish protector.

      Tech Tips

      After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

   3. Install 2 new No. 2 back door outside garnish protectors.

      Tech Tips

      Stick the 2 No. 2 back door outside garnish protectors on the lines marked on the back door outside garnish sub-assembly.

3. INSTALL NO. 1 BACK DOOR OUTSIDE GARNISH PROTECTOR

   
   

   1. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

   2. Remove the release paper from the No. 1 back door outside garnish protector.

      Tech Tips

      After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

   3. Install 2 new No. 1 back door outside garnish protectors.

      Tech Tips

      Stick the 2 No. 1 back door outside garnish protectors on the lines marked on the back door outside garnish sub-assembly.

4. INSTALL NO. 1 BACK DOOR EMBLEM

5. INSTALL BACK DOOR OUTSIDE GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Install new 8 clips to the back door outside garnish sub-assembly.

   2. 

      *1	Back Window Lower Moulding
      *a	String
      *b	Masking Tape

      Pass a string behind the back window lower moulding and tape both ends with masking tape as shown in the illustration.

   3. Engage the 8 clips to install the back door outside garnish sub-assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Make sure not to dislodge the string under the back window lower moulding.

   4. Apply soapy water to the back window lower moulding.

   5. 

      *1	Back Window Lower Moulding
      *2	Back Door Outside Garnish Sub-assembly
      *a	String

      Pull out the string slowly, starting from one end and working to the other end, as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Make sure not to damage the back window lower moulding.

   6. Check that the back window lower moulding is not caught behind the back door outside garnish sub-assembly.

   7. Install the 2 bolts.

   Tech Tips

   Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
