DESCRIPTION

The roof sunshade ECU (sliding roof drive gear assembly) receives switch signals and drives its built-in motor.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following procedure.

  • When the roof sunshade ECU (sliding roof drive gear assembly) is removed and reinstalled or replaced, it requires initialization.

  • The roof sunshade system uses the LIN communication system. First, confirm that there are no malfunctions in the LIN communication system. Refer to the How to Proceed with Troubleshooting procedure.

  • When a roof sunshade ECU (sliding roof drive gear assembly) DTC is output, first perform troubleshooting for the roof sunshade ECU (sliding roof drive gear assembly) DTC.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Sliding Roof / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ROOF SUNSHADE ECU (SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY) - AUXILIARY BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the a1 roof sunshade ECU (sliding roof drive gear assembly) connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      a1-8 (B) - Body ground power switch off 11 to 14 V
      a1-1 (IG) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Disconnect the O8 roof sunshade switch (map light assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the a1 roof sunshade ECU (sliding roof drive gear assembly) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      a1-5 (CLOSE) - O8-13 (CLS) Always Below 1 Ω
      a1-5 (CLOSE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
