LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. When using a new lower instrument panel sub-assembly:

      
      

      1. Immediately before installing the lower instrument panel sub-assembly, twist and cut off the portion shown in the illustration.

         

   2. Install the lower instrument panel sub-assembly with the 2 bolts <A>, 8 screws <C> and screw <D>.

   3. Engage the 2 claws to connect the room temperature sensor (cooler thermistor).

   4. Engage the 2 claws to connect the DLC3.

   5. Connect each connector.

   6. Engage each clamp.

2. CONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Engage the claw and 2 guides to connect the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

3. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR STOPPER SUB-ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Engage the claw to install the glove compartment door stopper sub-assembly.

4. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY

   
   
   1. 

      *a	Opened Approximately 53°
      *b	Closed

      With the glove compartment door assembly opened approximately 53° from its closed position, engage the 2 hinges horizontally.

      Note

      Engaging the hinges from the top will deform the hinges. Be sure to install the glove compartment door assembly horizontally.

   2. 

      *1	Glove Compartment Door Stopper Sub-assembly
      *a	Stopper

      Slightly bend the stoppers in the directions indicated by the arrows (A) and (B) in the illustration and engage the stoppers to install the glove compartment door assembly.

   3. Engage the claw and connect the glove compartment door stopper sub-assembly.

5. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Instrument Panel Under Cover)

   
   

   1. Engage the guide and 3 claws to install the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

6. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH

7. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

8. INSTALL CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD RETAINER WITH AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY

9. INSTALL STEREO OPENING COVER WITH BRACKET (w/o Radio Receiver)

   
   

   1. Connect the connector.

   2. Engage the 2 guides.

   3. Install the stereo opening cover with bracket with the 4 bolts <B>.

10. INSTALL RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (w/ Radio Receiver)

11. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

12. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Instrument Panel Under Cover)

    
    

    1. Engage the guide and claw.

    2. Install the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly with the 2 screws <E>.

13. INSTALL NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE (for LHD)

    
    

    1. Connect the connector.

    2. 

       Engage the 4 clips to install the No. 1 switch hole base as shown in the illustration.

14. INSTALL NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE (for RHD)

    
    

    1. Connect the connector.

    2. 

       Engage the 4 clips to install the No. 1 switch hole base as shown in the illustration.

15. INSTALL NO. 2 SWITCH HOLE BASE (for LHD)

    
    

    1. 

       Engage the 3 clips to install the No. 2 switch hole base as shown in the illustration.

16. INSTALL NO. 2 SWITCH HOLE BASE (for RHD)

    
    

    1. Connect the connector.

    2. 

       Engage the 4 clips to install the No. 2 switch hole base as shown in the illustration.

17. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY

    
    

    1. Connect each connector.

    2. Engage the 8 clips to install the lower instrument cluster finish panel assembly.

18. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH
