LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

1. PRECAUTION

2. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY

   Click here

3. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

   Click here

4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

   Click here

5. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

   Click here

6. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. 

      Disengage the 8 clips.

   2. Disconnect each connector and remove the lower instrument cluster finish panel assembly.

7. REMOVE NO. 2 SWITCH HOLE BASE (for LHD)

   
   

   1. 

      Disengage the 3 clips and remove the No. 2 switch hole base as shown in the illustration.

8. REMOVE NO. 2 SWITCH HOLE BASE (for RHD)

   
   

   1. 

      Disengage the 4 clips as shown in the illustration.

   2. Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 2 switch hole base.

9. REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE (for LHD)

   
   

   1. 

      Disengage the 4 clips as shown in the illustration.

   2. Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 1 switch hole base.

10. REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE (for RHD)

    
    

    1. 

       Disengage the 4 clips as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disconnect the connector and remove the No. 1 switch hole base.

11. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Instrument Panel Under Cover)

    
    

    1. 

       Remove the 2 screws <E>.

    2. 

       Disengage the claw and guide, and remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

12. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

13. REMOVE STEREO OPENING COVER WITH BRACKET (w/o Radio Receiver)

    
    

    1. 

       Remove the 4 bolts <B>.

    2. Disengage the 2 guides.

    3. Disconnect the connector and remove the stereo opening cover with bracket.

14. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (w/ Radio Receiver)

15. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY

16. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

17. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

18. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Instrument Panel Under Cover)

    
    

    1. 

       Disengage the 3 claws and guide and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

19. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY

    
    
    1. 

       *1	Glove Compartment Door Stopper Sub-assembly
       *a	Stopper

       Disengage the claw and release the glove compartment door stopper sub-assembly.

    2. Slightly bend the stoppers in the directions indicated by the arrows (A) and (B) in the illustration and pull the glove compartment door assembly until the stoppers are released.

    3. 

       *a	Close
       *b	Open Approximately 53°

       Open the glove compartment door assembly to approximately 53° from its closed position. Pull it horizontally as shown in the illustration to disengage the 2 hinges and remove the glove compartment door assembly.

       Note

       Pulling the glove compartment door assembly upward to remove it causes the hinges to deform. Be sure to pull out the glove compartment door assembly horizontally.

20. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR STOPPER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    
    

    1. 

       Disengage the claw and remove the glove compartment door stopper sub-assembly.

21. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    
    

    1. 

       Disengage the claw and 2 guides and disconnect the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

22. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

    
    

    1. Disengage each clamp.

       

       *1	Room Temperature Sensor (Cooler Thermistor)	-	-
       *a	DLC3	-	-

    2. Disconnect each connector.

    3. Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the DLC3.

    4. Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the room temperature sensor (cooler thermistor).

    5. Remove the 2 bolts <A>, 8 screws <C>, screw <D> and lower instrument panel sub-assembly.
