PRE-CRASH SAFETY SYSTEM TERMINALS OF ECU

  1. CHECK PRE-CRASH SAFETY CITY SENSOR

    A003220E25

    1. Disconnect the O9 pre-crash safety city sensor connector.

      Note

      • DTCs may be output when connectors are disconnected during inspection. Therefore, be sure to clear the DTCs using the GTS once the inspection has been completed.

      • Do not apply excessive force to the O9 pre-crash safety city sensor connector.

    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Terminal No. (Symbol) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
O9-3 (LDSW) - Body ground R - Body ground Lane departure alert switch signal Lane departure alert switch being pressed Below 1 Ω
Lane departure alert switch not being pressed 100 kΩ or higher
O9-9 (PCSW) - Body ground Y - Body ground Pre-crash system cancel switch assembly signal Pre-crash system cancel switch assembly being pressed Below 1 Ω
Pre-crash system cancel switch assembly not being pressed 100 kΩ or higher
      O9-7 (IG1) - Body ground G - Body ground Power source Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
Power switch off Below 1 V
      O9-10 (GND) - Body ground W-B - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Tech Tips

If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction on the wire harness side.

    3. Reconnect the O9 pre-crash safety city sensor connector.

    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Terminal No. (Symbol) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
O9-8 (BUZ) - Body ground*1 GR - Body ground Pre-crash safety city buzzer operation signal

      Power switch on (IG)

Pre-crash safety city buzzer not operating

      11 to 14 V

      Power switch on (IG)

      Pre-crash safety city buzzer operating

      0 to 1.5 V
O9-8 (BUZ) - Body ground*2 GR - Body ground Pre-crash safety city heater operation signal

      Power switch on (IG)

Pre-crash safety city heater not operating

      11 to 14 V

      Power switch on (IG)

      Pre-crash safety city heater operating

      0 to 1.5 V
O9-1 (SPR) - Body ground*2 V - Body ground Pre-crash safety city heater drive signal

      Power switch on (IG)

Pre-crash safety city heater not operating

      Pre-crash safety city heater operating

      Below 1 V

      *1: w/ Pre-crash Safety City Buzzer

      *2: w/ Pre-crash Safety City Heater

    5. Check for pulses according to the value(s) in the table below.

Terminal No. (Symbol) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
O9-5 (CA1P) - Body ground P - Body ground CAN communication signal Power switch on (IG)

      Pulse generation

      (See waveform 1)

O9-11 (CA1N) - Body ground W - Body ground CAN communication signal Power switch on (IG)

      Pulse generation

      (See waveform 1)

      Waveform 1

      1. CAN communication signal

        Item Content
        Tester Connection
        • CH1: O9-5 (CA1P) - Body ground

        • CH2: O9-11 (CA1N) - Body ground

        Tool Setting 1 V/DIV., 50 μsec./DIV.
        Condition Power switch on (IG)

        Tech Tips

If the result is not as specified, the CAN bus line, terminating resistor circuit (or part with this circuit) or pre-crash safety city sensor is malfunctioning.
