Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

Note
After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

DISCONNECT CABLE FROM AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
Note
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
REMOVE CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Hatchback)
CAUTION:
When storing the curtain shield airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.
Note
When removing the curtain shield airbag assembly, have assistants hold it to prevent it from bending.
Check that the power switch is off.
Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, release the airbag connector lock and disconnect the airbag connector.
Note
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
Using a clip remover, remove the 6 pins.
Using 2 screwdrivers, disengage the 2 claws and remove the 6 clips from the body panel as shown in the illustration.
Tech Tips
Remove the 6 clips and curtain shield airbag assembly from the body panel as a unit.

While holding the curtain shield airbag assembly, remove the 2 bolts and disengage the 4 clips.
Disengage the 2 hooks to remove the curtain shield airbag assembly.
Remove the 6 clips and 2 spacers from the curtain shield airbag assembly.
REMOVE NO. 2 SIDE PANEL STRENGTH BRACKET (for Wagon)
Remove the bolt and disengage the hook to remove the No. 2 side panel strength bracket.
REMOVE CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Wagon)
CAUTION:
