STEERING PAD INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Check that the power switch is off.

   2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

   3. 

      *1	Airbag Connector
      *2	Horn Connector
      *3	Airbag Connector Lock

      Connect the airbag connector to the horn button assembly.

      Note

      When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

   4. Push in the airbag connector lock to install the airbag connector.

   5. Connect the horn connector to the horn button assembly.

   6. 

      Push the horn button assembly to engage the 3 claws and pin carefully.

      Note

      
      

      • Make sure that the 2 claws (A) are securely inserted into the horn button assembly holes.

      • Make sure that the pin is securely inserted into the steering wheel assembly hole.

      • Make sure to engage the 2 upper claws (A) first.

      • Make sure that the horn button assembly is securely installed.

2. CONNECT CABLE TO AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

   Note

   When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

3. INSTALL BATTERY BOX COVER

   Click here

4. INSPECT HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Make sure that the horn sounds.

      If the horn does not sound, inspect the horn system.

5. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK

6. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
