NAME PLATE(for Hatchback) REMOVAL

Tech Tips

When removing the name plates or emblems, heat the vehicle body and name plates or emblems using a heat light.

Heating Temperature
Item Temperature
Vehicle Body 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
Name Plate or Emblem 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

Note

Do not heat the vehicle body, name plates or emblems excessively.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE NO. 1 BACK DOOR EMBLEM


    1. A01G3H5C01
      *a Wooden Block
      *b Piano Wire
      A01G3OB Protective Tape

      Put protective tape around the No. 1 back door emblem.

    2. Insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and No. 1 back door emblem.

    3. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.

    4. Pull the piano wire to separate the double-sided tape that holds the No. 1 back door emblem to the vehicle body.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

    5. Disengage the 2 pins and remove the No. 1 back door emblem.

  2. REMOVE BACK DOOR NAME PLATE

      *b Piano Wire
      A01G3OB Protective Tape

      Put protective tape around the back door name plate.

    2. Insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and back door name plate.

    3. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.

    4. Pull the piano wire to separate the double-sided tape that holds the back door name plate to the vehicle body.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

    5. Remove the back door name plate.

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 BACK DOOR NAME PLATE

      *a Wooden Block
      *b Piano Wire
      A01G3OB Protective Tape

      Put protective tape around the No. 2 back door name plate.

    2. Insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and No. 2 back door name plate.

    3. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.

    4. Pull the piano wire to separate the double-sided tape that holds the No. 2 back door name plate to the vehicle body.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

    5. Remove the No. 2 back door name plate.

  4. REMOVE NO. 3 BACK DOOR NAME PLATE

      *a Wooden Block
      *b Piano Wire
      A01G3OB Protective Tape

      Put protective tape around the No. 3 back door name plate.

    2. Insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and No. 3 back door name plate.

    3. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.

    4. Pull the piano wire to separate the double-sided tape that holds the No. 3 back door name plate to the vehicle body.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

    5. Remove the No. 3 back door name plate.

  5. REMOVE SIDE PANEL EMBLEM


    1. A01G3SJC01
      *a Wooden Block
      *b Piano Wire
      A01G3OB Protective Tape

      Put protective tape around the side panel emblem.

    2. Insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and side panel emblem.

    3. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.

    4. Pull the piano wire to separate the double-sided tape that holds the side panel emblem to the vehicle body.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

    5. Remove the side panel emblem.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
