  2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS


    • When troubleshooting, confirm that the problem symptoms have been accurately identified. Preconceptions should be discarded in order to make an accurate judgment. To clearly understand what the problem symptoms are, it is extremely important to ask the customer about the problem and the conditions at the time the malfunction occurred.

    • Gather as much information as possible for reference. Past problems that seem unrelated may also help in some cases.

    • The following 5 items are important points for problem analysis:

      What Vehicle model, system name
      When Date, time, occurrence frequency
      Where Road conditions
      Under what conditions? Driving conditions, weather conditions
      How did it happen? Problem symptoms

  3. INSPECT AUXILIARY BATTERY VOLTAGE


    1. Measure the auxiliary battery voltage with the power switch off.

      Standard Voltage
      11 to 14 V

      If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the auxiliary battery before proceeding to the next step.

  4. CHECK WARNING MESSAGE ON MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY


    1. Check if a warning message was displayed on the multi-information display when the malfunction occurred.

      • Warning message other than "IPA NOT AVAILABLE" or "IPA CANCELLED, TAKE OVER" was displayed on the multi-information display.

  5. CHECK DATA LIST (ABNORMALITY HISTORY)*


    1. Check the abnormality history in the Data List by using the GTS.

  6. CHECK DETAIL*


    1. Check the Data List for the following abnormality history items, and explain to the customer that the vehicle is not malfunctioning and ask them to use the vehicle as is.

      Tester Display Suspected Area Item to be Checked
      Invalid EPS Record during IPA SW-ON The power steering system temporarily overheated.
      • The simple intelligent parking assist system returns to normal when the steering wheel is not operated and the power switch on (READY) for 30 minutes with following conditions:


        • The air conditioning system is on (MAX COLD and FACE mode)


        • Close the front register and side register ducts

      • Tire pressure and tire wear

      Power source voltage supplied to the power steering system dropped. Auxiliary battery voltage (The simple intelligent parking assist system returns to normal when the auxiliary battery voltage is 12 V or more.)
      History of IPA Cancel due to Lo Power Power source voltage supplied to the simple intelligent parking assist system dropped. Auxiliary battery voltage (The simple intelligent parking assist system returns to normal when the auxiliary battery voltage is 10 V or more.)
      The IPA main switch assembly was pressed without the power switch on (READY). Power switch condition when the IPA main switch assembly is pressed.
      History of IPA Cancel due to Large Current Malfunction is due to tire conditions or usage conditions, such as on rough roads or steep hills, while the simple intelligent parking assist system was operating.
      • Tire pressure and tire wear

      • Usage conditions

      History of IPA Cancel due to Deviation in Steering Angle
      History of IPA Cancel due to Going Off Course
    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Clearing the DTCs will reset the abnormality history.
