DESCRIPTION
The No. 3 ultrasonic sensor (rear center LH) is installed on the rear bumper. The ECU detects obstacles based on signals received from the No. 3 ultrasonic sensor (rear center LH). If the No. 3 ultrasonic sensor (rear center LH) has an open circuit or other malfunction, it will not function normally.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
Note
If DTCs are output after repairs, turn the power switch on (IG) and the TOYOTA parking assist-sensor system on. Then clear the DTCs.
Depending on the parts that are replaced during vehicle inspection or maintenance, performing initialization may be needed. Refer to Initialization.
PROCEDURE
CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY - NO. 3 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR CENTER LH))
Disconnect the E98 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.
Disconnect the R7 No. 3 ultrasonic sensor (rear center LH) connector.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Replace the No. 3 ultrasonic sensor (rear center LH) with a known good one.
Tech Tips
All of the sensors are interchangeable. To confirm whether a sensor is functioning normally, switch it with a known good sensor from the other end of the vehicle.
