DESCRIPTION

The No. 2 ultrasonic sensor (front center LH) is installed on the front bumper. The ECU detects obstacles based on signals received from the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor (front center LH). If the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor (front center LH) has an open circuit or other malfunction, it will not function normally.

Note


  • If DTCs are output after repairs, turn the power switch on (IG) and turn the back sonar or clearance sonar switch assembly on. Then clear the DTCs.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY - NO. 2 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (FRONT CENTER LH))


    1. Disconnect the E98 clearance warning ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the r6 No. 2 ultrasonic sensor (front center LH) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      E98-23 (BOF) - r6-3 (BI) Always Below 1 Ω

  2. REPLACE NO. 2 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (FRONT CENTER LH)


    1. Replace the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor (front center LH) with a known good one.

      Tech Tips

      All of the sensors are interchangeable. To confirm whether a sensor is functioning normally, switch it with a known good sensor from the other end of the vehicle.
