STEERING WHEEL INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note


  • Do not replace the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly with the auxiliary battery connected and the power switch On (IG).

  • Do not rotate the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly without the steering wheel with the auxiliary battery connected and the power switch On (IG).

  • Ensure that the steering wheel is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering sensor.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL LOWER STEERING WHEEL BOSS COVER


    1. Engage the 4 pins and 2 claws to install a new lower steering wheel boss cover to the steering wheel sub-assembly.

  2. INSTALL CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WIRE (w/ Cruise Control System)


    1. Install the cruise control switch wire.

  3. INSTALL CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH (w/ Cruise Control System)

  4. INSTALL STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  5. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

  6. INSPECT AND ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE WITH SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

  7. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

      *a Matchmark

      Align the matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and steering main shaft to install the steering wheel assembly.

    2. Install the steering wheel assembly set nut.

      Torque:
      50 N*m  { 510 kgf*cm, 37 ft.*lbf }

    3. Connect each connector to the spiral cable sub-assembly.

  8. CHECK STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT

  9. INSTALL HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY
