DESCRIPTION

The AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) receives a signal from each headlight swivel motor using LIN communication.

If the AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) has been replaced, it is necessary to synchronize the vehicle information and initialize the AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly).

  1. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Click here


      Body Electrical > AFS > Clear DTCs

    2. Check for DTCs.

      Click here


      Body Electrical > AFS > Trouble Codes
      OK
      DTC B2424 or B2425 is not output.
      Result
      Proceed to

      NG

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS ECU (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY) - HEADLIGHT UNIT)


    1. Disconnect the A93 AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the A90 headlight unit LH connector and A123 headlight unit RH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      LH Side (B2424)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A93-30 (LHT) - A90-4 (LHM+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A93-30 (LHT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      RH Side (B2425)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A93-11 (RHT) - A123-4 (RHM+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A93-11 (RHT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  3. CHECK HEADLIGHT UNIT (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL MOTOR)


    1. Replace the headlight unit with a new or known good one.
