Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.


  • The procedure described below is for the LH side.


  • The license plate light bulb can be replaced by removing only the license plate light lens. It is not necessary to remove the license plate light assembly. (for Wagon)

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT ASSEMBLY (for Hatchback)


    1. A01SFFK

      Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Do not apply excessive force to the claw of the license plate light assembly as it may be damaged.

    2. A01SFOSN01

      Pull out the license plate light assembly as indicated by arrows, in the order shown in the illustration.

    3. A01SFBD

      Disconnect the connector to remove the license plate light assembly.

  2. REMOVE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT BULB (for Hatchback)


    1. A01SFLM

      Turn the license plate light socket with the license plate light bulb as shown in the illustration to remove them as a unit.

    2. Remove the license plate light bulb from the license plate light socket.

  3. REMOVE BACK DOOR UPPER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY (for Wagon)

  4. REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH LH (for Wagon)

  5. REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH RH (for Wagon)

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  6. REMOVE DOOR PULL HANDLE (for Wagon)

  7. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY (for Wagon)

  8. REMOVE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT ASSEMBLY (for Wagon)

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Disengage the 2 claws to remove the license plate light assembly.

  9. REMOVE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT PACKING (for Wagon)


    1. A01SF8W

      Remove the license plate light packing.

      Note

      Do not reuse the removed license plate light packing. Be sure to install a new license plate light packing to prevent water ingress.

  10. REMOVE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT LENS (for Wagon)


    1. A01SFD5C01
      *a Insert into the hole
      A01SF71 Protective Tape

      Insert a screwdriver wrapped with protective tape into the license plate light lens hole, tilt it as shown in the illustration and disengage the 2 claws to remove the license plate light lens.

  11. REMOVE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT BULB (for Wagon)


    1. A01SFES

      Remove the license plate light bulb.
