DESCRIPTION

The AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) receives the high beam ON demand signal (for automatic high beam system) from the inner rear view mirror assembly (automatic high beam sensor) and sends it to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).

  • If the AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) has been replaced, it is necessary to synchronize the vehicle information and initialize the AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly).

  1. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Click here


      Body Electrical > Main Body > Clear DTCs
      Body Electrical > AFS > Clear DTCs

    2. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > AFS > Trouble Codes

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS ECU (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY) - INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM SENSOR))


    1. Disconnect the A93 AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the O3 inner rear view mirror assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A93-30 (LHT) - O3-5 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      A93-30 (LHT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  3. INSPECT AFS ECU (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY)


    1. Reconnect the A93 AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) connector.

      Connect an oscilloscope to the inner rear view mirror assembly connector.

      Check the waveform.
