OUTER MIRROR SWITCH INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/o Power Retractable Mirror)


    1. Check the mirror select switch and mirror surface adjust switch.


      1. A00YPGLC01
        *a Mirror select switch
        *b Mirror surface adjust switch
        *c

        Component without harness connected

        (Outer Mirror Switch Assembly)

        Turn the mirror select switch to the L position.

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance (for left side)
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition

        15 (VL) - 19 (B)

        17 (M+) - 18 (E)

        		 UP Below 1 Ω
        OFF 10 kΩ or higher

        15 (VL) - 18 (E)

        17 (M+) - 19 (B)

        		 DOWN Below 1 Ω
        OFF 10 kΩ or higher

        16 (HL) - 19 (B)

        17 (M+) - 18 (E)

        		 LEFT Below 1 Ω
        OFF 10 kΩ or higher

        16 (HL) - 18 (E)

        17 (M+) - 19 (B)

        		 RIGHT Below 1 Ω
        OFF 10 kΩ or higher

      3. Turn the mirror select switch to the R position.

      4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance (for right side)
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition

        14 (VR) - 19 (B)

        17 (M+) - 18 (E)

        		 UP Below 1 Ω
        OFF 10 kΩ or higher

        14 (VR) - 18 (E)

        17 (M+) - 19 (B)

        		 DOWN Below 1 Ω
        OFF 10 kΩ or higher

        13 (HR) - 19 (B)

        17 (M+) - 18 (E)

        		 LEFT Below 1 Ω
        OFF 10 kΩ or higher

        13 (HR) - 18 (E)

        17 (M+) - 19 (B)

        		 RIGHT Below 1 Ω
        OFF 10 kΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

    2. Check the mirror retract switch.

    3. Check the LED illuminates.

        *a

        Component without harness connected

        (Outer Mirror Switch Assembly)

        Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the outer mirror switch assembly and check that the LED illuminates.

        Standard
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 12 (ILL+)

        Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 22 (ILL-)

        		 LED illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

  2. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Power Retractable Mirror)


    1. Check the mirror select switch and mirror surface adjust switch.

        Component without harness connected

        Turn the mirror select switch to the L position.

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance (for left side)

        15 (VL) - 19 (B)

        17 (M+) - 18 (E)

        		 UP Below 1 Ω
        OFF 10 kΩ or higher

        15 (VL) - 18 (E)

        17 (M+) - 19 (B)

        		 DOWN Below 1 Ω
        OFF 10 kΩ or higher

        16 (HL) - 19 (B)

        17 (M+) - 18 (E)

        		 LEFT Below 1 Ω
        OFF 10 kΩ or higher

        16 (HL) - 18 (E)

        17 (M+) - 19 (B)

        		 RIGHT Below 1 Ω
        OFF 10 kΩ or higher

      3. Turn the mirror select switch to the R position.

      4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance (for right side)

        14 (VR) - 19 (B)

        17 (M+) - 18 (E)

        		 UP Below 1 Ω
        OFF 10 kΩ or higher

        14 (VR) - 18 (E)

        13 (HR) - 19 (B)

        17 (M+) - 18 (E)

        		 LEFT Below 1 Ω
        OFF 10 kΩ or higher

        		 RIGHT Below 1 Ω
        OFF 10 kΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

    2. Check the mirror retract switch.

        Component without harness connected

        Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        21 (MF) - 18 (E) Mirror retract switch retract position Below 1 Ω
        20 (MR) - 19 (B) Below 1 Ω
        21 (MF) - 19 (B) Mirror retract switch return position Below 1 Ω
        20 (MR) - 18 (E) Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

    3. Check the LED illuminates (w/o AUTO Power Retractable Mirror).

        Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the outer mirror switch assembly and check that the LED illuminates.

        Standard
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 12 (ILL+)

        Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 22 (ILL-)

        		 LED illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

    4. Check the LED illuminates (w/ AUTO Power Retractable Mirror).

        Component without harness connected

        (Outer Mirror Switch Assembly)

        Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the outer mirror switch assembly and check that the LED illuminates.

        Standard
        Measurement Condition Specified Condition

        Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 3 (ILL+)

        Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 23 (ILL-)

        		 LED illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.
