POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM(for Models with Jam Protection Function on Driver Door Window Only) OPERATION CHECK


  1. CHECK WINDOW LOCK SWITCH

    Tech Tips

    Before performing the window lock switch operation check, make sure that the window lock switch is off (the switch is not pushed in).


    1. Check that the front passenger and rear windows* cannot be operated when the window lock switch of the power window regulator master switch assembly is pushed in.

      *: w/ Rear Power Window

    2. Check that the front passenger and rear windows* can be operated when the window lock switch of the power window regulator master switch assembly is pushed in again.

    3. CHECK MANUAL UP / DOWN FUNCTION


      1. Check that the driver door power window operates as follows:

  2. Check that the front passenger door window and rear power windows* operate as follows:

    OK

  • CHECK AUTO UP / DOWN FUNCTION


    1. Check that the driver door power window operates as follows:

      OK
      Condition Master Switch Switch Operation Power Window
      Power switch on (IG) Driver door Pulled up (One touch operation) AUTO UP (Closes)
      Pushed down (One touch operation) AUTO DOWN (Opens)

  • CHECK REMOTE MANUAL UP / DOWN FUNCTION


    1. Check that the front passenger door window and rear power windows* operate as follows:

      OK

      • Window lock switch off

  • CHECK POWER WINDOW OPERATION FUNCTION AFTER POWER SWITCH IS TURNED OFF


    1. Check that each power window can be operated with the power widow regulator master switch assembly, power window regulator switch assembly or rear power window regulator switch assembly* after the power switch is turned off.

      Tech Tips

      If the window lock switch is on, the power windows cannot be operated except the driver door power window. Therefore, turn the window lock switch off before checking the window operation.

    2. Check that the key-off operation function does not operate immediately after the driver door or front passenger door is opened.

      Tech Tips

      Even if the driver door or front passenger door is opened during auto window operation while the key-off operation function is on, the window will continue operating.

    3. Check that all the power windows cannot be operated after more than approximately 43 seconds have elapsed since the power switch was turned off.

  • CHECK JAM PROTECTION FUNCTION


    1. Check the basic function.

      CAUTION:

      Do not put your fingers between the door frame and door glass to check the jam protection function. Also, prevent any part of your body from being caught during inspection.

      Tech Tips

      The jam protection function is operative during both the auto up and manual up operations while the hybrid control system is started or the power switch is on (IG), and also for approximately 43 seconds after the power switch is turned off.


      1. Fully open the driver door window.

        Set a check jig wrapped with a piece of cloth near the window fully closed position.

      3. Operate the auto up or manual up function to check that the power window stops and goes down after the check jig is caught between the window and door frame, and stops when the opening reaches approximately 200 mm (7.87 in.) or approximately 5 seconds have elapsed.

        Tech Tips

        If the check jig is caught when the opening is approximately 75 mm (2.95 in.) or more, the power window goes down for approximately 125 mm (4.93 in.) or until approximately 2.5 seconds elapse.

      4. While the power window is moving down, check that the door glass cannot be raised using the power window switch.

  • CHECK POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH LED ILLUMINATION


    1. Check the LED illumination (power window regulator master switch assembly).


      1. Check that the LED located in the power window regulator master switch assembly illuminates when the power switch is turned to on (IG).
