FUEL PUMP INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT FUEL PUMP


    1. A00YPI8N01

      Check the resistance.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        1 - 2 20°C (68°F) 0.2 to 3.0 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel pump.

    2. Check fuel pump operation.


      1. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to terminals 1 and 2. Check that the fuel pump operates.

        Note


        • Perform these tests within 10 seconds to prevent the coil from burning out.

        • Keep the fuel pump as far away from the auxiliary battery as possible.

        • Always switch the voltage on and off at the auxiliary battery side, not the fuel pump side.

        If the fuel pump does not operate, replace the fuel pump.
